A.P.E (A Personal Experience): Exclusive Interview with Motive105

My latest blog post is dedicated to the young and talented up and coming artist Motive105, a 19 year old rapper from West London. He puts a twist on hip hop and turns it into his own original sound that he continues to bring to the industry. The reason I talk about him today is because everyone needs to download his mixtape that is out now! The mixtape was dropped yesterday and already the feedback has been great. To find out more about A.P.E (A personal experience), I caught up briefly with Motive105, and asked him a few questions about his mixtape, his personal journey, and what he hopes to achieve from it all in hopefully the near future:

How long have you been making music?

‘I have been making music for just under 2 years, this is my first mixtape that i have ever made though.’

What’s been the highlight of your musical career so far?

‘I count anyone that acknowledges me for my music a highlight, it’s always a great feelings when someone compliments me on my music.’

How did you come up with your stage name?

‘A stroke of genius in my world, however the story behind my stage name is not yet ready to be revealed. Maybe one day...’

What’s the story behind your latest mixtape?

‘My mixtape A.P.E which stands for A Personal Experience is a mixtape I’ve put together with my close friend/producer SelasiHD. The mixtape is basically a bunch of experiences compiled with eachother that we have personally experience, we simply after compiling the experiences went to the studio and created the perfect way to re-create and explain the experience in a musical form.’

 Any collaborations on your album?

‘I had the pleasure of working with Ethan Breakaway, He features on my song "Kaylin Garcia" which will be the first music video release off the mixtape.’

Who do you aspire to collaborate with in the future?

‘Pharrell.’

What’s your favourite track on your mixtape?

‘They are all my creations, i can’t pick one and say it’s my favourite because they all suit different situations and moods’.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?

‘10 years... i hope i am an established musician, if not that i hope i have a career in something that enables my creativity to never die.’

What do you think differentiates you from other hip hop artists?

'Well differing from the subject of being a different rapper to other rappers, I’m simply a product of my environment. Each individual person has a different story and i guess I’ve just chose to tell my story through the form of music.’

Who are your hip hop heroes?

‘I have no heroes, every rapper/musician i listen to has a different effect on me, all though not all the time my ears will agree with what its listening to, it will definitely have a effect on my mood or mind frame. I could easily give you a list of people i most listen to but that is a list far too long to be said.’

Although that’s only some brief knowledge about Motive105, get to know him and support him on his journey in the music industry. Follow him on twitter and keep staying in tune with his music. You will definitely be hearing about him in the future.
