A quick catch up with my favourite fashion blogger and YouTuber Baitong Namasonthi. 10 things you may or may not know about her.
How long have you been blogging for and how have you progressed since?
"I began blogging properly when I was 16 so about 3 years now, its been a rollercoaster ride really but I'm still quite new so I'm still growing."
What gave you the idea to start blogging about fashion specifically?
"I just wanted to see how my style evolved so I made blogging like my live photo journal, posting daily outfits."
What were you like in secondary school and in what ways have you changed since?
"I was pretty quiet but towards the end a bit outspoken in a way and just did what I wanted to do. I thought I had to please everyone and the pressure of that got to me so I just dropped it and started focusing on myself and what I wanted to do in life. I've grown of course, I've stopped caring about what others think and just dress for myself."
Where do you love to shop and who's your favourite fashion designer?
"I love to shop at Zara, H&M, Asos, Cos, All Saints and my favourite designer is Alexander Wang."
How do you think you differ from other fashion bloggers?
"Well… I guess I'm just myself, I'm not the most put together or primed girls, I'm pretty lazy at times and I'm not just gonna doll myself up to film unless I'm really in the spirit to. I see myself blogging a different way to other bloggers where my posts and photos aren't candy coated, I don't have all the equipment so I use what I have and its pretty basic. I guess I want the readers to be more focused on the clothes and how I style them more than my face."
You are an inspiration to a lot of young girls out there. Does the attention get overwhelming at times?
"It does, many girls write to me saying that I really inspire them and I have to take a step back and think 'wow'! I've had an influence in someones life and even help them in a way. That's always been my goal - to inspire people and help them. I know how hard it must be when you don't have motivation or when someone makes nasty comments about what you're wearing and it affects how you dress."
"Thank you! It was really awesome! I love that my friends and followers came to visit me. I would love to do it again!"
Your 'Punk Pistols' online store seems to be a success. where do you get all your clothes from?
"It’s my closet clear out actually, so just things from my own closet!"
What do you think is the key to being a good blogger?
"I guess just be creative, keep being inspired and stay yourself"
Who are your top 3 role models/inspirations?
"Leandra Medine, Nicole Richie and Andy Heart."
